Laura & Joe / Cecil Creek Farm Wedding

Laura & Joe | Cecil Creek Farm Wedding
Mickleton, NJ

In a past life, I was certainly a Southern Belle living in a farmhouse with a huge wrap around porch and endless summer sunsets. Something about the country look with natural wood elements, antique furniture mixed with gorgeous blooms and lace makes my heart dance. I can’t believe such a perfect spot for a wedding of rustic elegance is right here in South Jersey! Cecil Creek Farm was the ideal location for Laura and Joe’s wedding vision to come to life!

There was a plan for the ceremony to be held on the land surrounded by the beautiful horses and trees, but Mother Nature had another plan! 2018 was absolutely the year of rain! It seemed like every weekend, the forecast called for rain so it provided plenty of opportunity for me to sharpen my plan B, Indoor photography skills! This day was no different. I actually think rain makes the day a little more adventurous and can hand us opportunity for one of a kind moments to be captured. Because of the rain and mud everywhere the ceremony was moved indoors to the greenhouse. Swoon! It was so well lit, naturally and the planned details added to the charm of the location . My favorite part of the farm decor for this ceremony was the variation in guest chairs and Laura’s favorite chair had Roosters on it.

Prior to their ceremony, Laura and Joe had their first look inside the barn that would be transformed into their reception space. I really love bringing texture into photographs, so the simple metal lift doors became the right choice for this first look location. Joe could hardly contain his patience he just wanted to turn around and see Laura’s eyes and smile. The initial nerves washed away with the rain, and these two were ready for their portraits. It is a major advantage to having a complete gallery when you set aside proper time in the day for portraits. We were not rushed and captured a great amount of images for the soon to be husband and wife. Even with limited physical indoor location options, Cecil Creek Farm was organized and helpful and provided more than enough for gorgeous photographs. I absolutely loved working here and hope to again in the future!

After a sweet ceremony directed by someone Laura and Joe hold dear to their hearts, everyone was ready for the party! I’ll be honest in saying I wasn’t sure if at first it seemed like a dancing crowd – but I have never been happier to be wrong! Every single person was FULL of energy and happiness, I’m pretty sure the wooden floor is worn in a bit more after this wedding. Dancers of all ages kept the party going and I found myself smiling behind my camera as I took photo after photo of pure happiness. These two sweethearts deserve these great memories and more. I am so happy to have been a part of the start of this new chapter in their lives, and couldn’t imagine the day happening any differently for them!
